Process Safety Associate (Technical Scribe Track)
Location: Remote (U.S.-Based)

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with clients, engaging in projects encompassing a broad spectrum of process safety and risk management activities. This role emphasizes being a technical scribe for PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA. What You'll Do
This role involves visiting various client sites, including industrial settings, indoors and outdoors, and in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, uneven terrain, stairs, etc.). Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel, which may involve long drives, extended periods away from home, and working across different time zones or shifts, depending on client needs.
Applicants Must Be Able To
This is a salaried, exempt W2 employee position. Compensation ranges from $62,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on location, relevant skills and experience, and alignment with Saltegra's team member levels. This role is eligible for our full benefits package.

What You'll Do
- Serve as a technical scribe during PHA (Process Hazard Analyses), HAZOP (Hazard and Operability), and LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) studies or workshops
- Work directly with experienced facilitators to document critical safety discussions
- Collaborate with cross-functional client teams and internal Saltegra experts
- Prepare detailed, high-quality reports that reflect the outcomes of safety studies
- Learn and use clients' standards for PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA
- Learn and use Saltegra's proven methodology and work toward facilitation readiness
- Effective and continued communication with clients and consulting team
- Able to work with a team on projects and independently on projects or tasks
- Perform technical reviews for peers, which could include marketing papers, presentations, reports, etc
- Be client-facing, having a proven record of building and maintaining positive and professional client relationships.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support project and client success
- Structured growth path: Our associates receive coaching, mentorship, and defined benchmarks to transition into a PHA facilitator role
- Real-world exposure: Gain hands-on experience from day one with high-impact clients
- Global teamwork: Work alongside peers from the U.S., Asia, and South America
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline
- 1+ year of experience in engineering, consulting, or industrial operations preferred
- Recent graduates with strong technical foundations and communication skills will also be considered
- Strong technical writing and organizational skills
- U.S. work authorization is required
- Availability and willingness to travel 40–60% (domestic and international)
- Experience utilizing AI (artificial intelligence) tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or similar as part of their day-to-day
- Exposure to PHA/HAZOP concepts
- Familiarity with P&IDs and process flow diagrams
- Experience with tools like PHAPro, PHAWorks, or similar
