Summary:

The Process Engineer will play a critical role in designing, configuring, and optimizing warehouse processes and systems within a Contract Logistics Warehouse environment. The role requires expertise in solution design, system configuration, testing, and training super users to ensure seamless operations. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance warehouse management systems (WMS), operational workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a flexible, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional with experience in fast-paced third-party logistics (3PL) environments. They must excel in relationship-building, cross-functional collaboration, and teamwork, with a strong focus on assisting business super users in optimizing WMS applications.

Key traits include patience, innovation, and persistence in overcoming resistance to change. The role involves documenting application configurations, support issues, user feedback, and FAQs, while also challenging legacy processes, promoting WMS best practices, and advocating for automation over manual workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & Configuration:

  • Analyze business and operational requirements to design efficient warehouse processes.
  • Configure Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related software to optimize warehouse operations.
  • Develop system workflows and process maps that align with warehouse operations and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and leadership teams to implement new features and functionalities in warehouse systems.

Testing & Implementation:

  • Develop test plans, conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validate system changes before deployment.
  • Work closely with IT teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth system implementations.
  • Support go-live events for new system implementations, warehouse process changes, and customer onboarding.

Training & Super User Support:

  • Develop training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and instructional documents for warehouse teams.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions for super users and warehouse staff on system functionalities and best practices.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for super users, addressing system-related inquiries and troubleshooting operational challenges.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline workflows.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct root cause analysis to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Support:

  • Partner with warehouse operations, IT, and customer service teams to align system capabilities with operational needs.
  • Provide expertise in warehouse automation, robotics integration, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve inventory management, order fulfillment, and supply chain visibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, process engineering, or WMS configuration within a 3PL environment.
  • Strong knowledge of WMS platforms such as Manhattan WMOS, JDA, SCALE, Infor, or similar systems.
  • Hands-on experience in system configuration, testing, and implementation.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into system solutions.
  • Experience in technical writing for SOPs, IOPs, and process documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and support super users and warehouse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with JIRA, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for on-site support, training, and system rollouts.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of warehouse automation, robotics, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Understanding of transportation management systems (TMS) and yard management systems (YMS).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pay Range:

$80,000-$90,000

  • The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
