Job Description


This position will serve as a key member of the Ethics and Business Conduct function at the Electronic Systems Sector of BAE Systems Inc., and will interact with employees at a range of levels within the sector. This is a role where you can grow, well suited for an individual with solid, directly applicable business and education/learning experiences who wants to leap forward in the ethics and compliance world.

This role will support the Ethics Office in the function's two primary objectives: a) to prevent and detect misconduct, and b) to promote an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with the law. In large measure, this role will undertake those ethics function activities related to "detection," while supporting Ethics staff who undertake those functional activities related to "prevention."



This Role Will


  • continue to develop and execute our conflict-of-interest disclosure, determination, and mitigation process
  • execute and expand upon our anti-corruption initiatives, including our gift and hospitality disclosure process
  • provide guidance to employees seeking advice on policies (primarily our Code of Conduct, the Gift and Hospitality policy, the Conflict-of-Interest policy)
  • conduct, guide and support investigations into allegations of misconduct
  • guide the development of ethics communications, training, and targeted interventions

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a

hybrid work format
, with

time split between working on-site and remotely
. For this role, we will consider individuals working in / near any of the major BAE Systems (Electronic Systems) locations, to include:

San Diego, CA; Wayne / Totowa, NJ; Cedar Rapids, IA; Greenlawn, NY; and Endicott, NY
.



Required Education, Experience, & Skills


  • The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an interest in and capacity for multitasking, timely completion of routine tasks, and solid, consistent, organization skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a robust understanding of database development and management, the ability to document large quantities of disparate data in them, and the initiative to make changes to these systems and processes based on experience.
  • The individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to evaluate the many sources of qualitative and quantitative data available to or created by the ethics office, provide thoughtful analysis of risk, and communicate this analysis clearly and effectively.
  • As a key member of a function that is oriented around people and human behavior, the successful candidate must have superior people skills. The candidate should exhibit both confidence and humility, while demonstrating the capacity to serve as a calming source of competence in emotionally charged situations.
  • The candidate should be able to demonstrate a work or educational history of performing these skills.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience that has included:

  • Experience managing a conflict-of-interest process.
  • A focus on employee engagement, organizational systems, etc.
  • Solid experience conducting some type of investigation or systemic inquiry
  • Managing and administrating corporate policies
  • A background in OD&L, ethics, or compliance (or directly comparable field) will distinguish you.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81336 - $168997

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
