Payroll Specialist (Remote)

Cortica is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join its growing team! In this role, you will be a key member of the Finance team. This role presents an exciting opportunity in an innovative, high-growth company still in its early stages of development.

What will you do?

• Process full-cycle payroll for assigned entities on a bi-weekly basis for an expanding workforce.
• Research and resolve payroll-related questions and issues; explain payroll policies and procedures and provide outstanding customer service.
• Verify and process employee expense reimbursements.
• Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external payroll tax-related inquires and audits.
• Continuously drive improvements, automation, communication, and education to improve employee experience.
• Assist with the implementation of new payroll systems or updating existing systems to meet business needs.
• Upgrade process and procedures as company scales to integrate with the latest technology.
  
  

We’d Love To Hear From You If

• You possess a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• You bring 3+ years of progressive payroll processing experience.
• You have experience with multi-state payroll and familiarity with new-state registration set-up and compliance.
• You have a solid working knowledge of UKG (implementation experience a plus!) and the aptitude to learn new systems.
• You can work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.
• You demonstrate a high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

The base pay range for this opening is $25.09 to $31.37 hourly. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
