Position Summary

The Patient Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling surgical or diagnostic procedures and may also schedule pre-anesthesia, oncology/infusion, or other appointments. Responsibilities may include a variety of clerical duties such as input of daily charges, patient forms, and statistics necessary for reporting. Excellent communication skills are required for this position as the Scheduling Coordinator plays an integral role in assisting the care team in meeting patient care needs and acts as a liaison between physician's offices, ancillary departments, and the surgical or primary department staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business administration or related field, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of clerical experience in a fast-paced, medical or professional environment, providing knowledge of computer programs and excellent communication skills is required
  • Experience in a healthcare environment, preferred

For the Surgery Dept at ARRMC only: 2 or more years of experience in a surgery department with working knowledge of surgical procedures in general vascular, urology, cardiothoracic, gynecology, plastics, ENT, neurosurgery of similar field is preferred.
