The Parts Picker is a crucial member of our dealership's Parts Department, responsible for efficiently and accurately locating and retrieving automotive parts from our inventory. This role supports the service technicians, wholesale clients, and retail customers by ensuring they have the correct parts in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses a strong work ethic.

This role supports the service technicians, wholesale clients, and retail customers by ensuring they have the correct parts in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick and pull parts from stock based on work orders, repair orders, and customer requests.
- Inventory Management: Assist with organizing and maintaining the parts warehouse, ensuring all parts are correctly labeled, stored, and easily accessible.
- Accuracy: Double-check part numbers and quantities to prevent errors and ensure the right parts are provided for the job.
- Communication: Coordinate with service technicians, parts counter staff, and the parts manager to fulfill orders and address any discrepancies or issues.
- Receiving & Stocking: Assist in the receiving process, including unloading shipments, verifying packing slips against incoming parts, and stocking new inventory in its correct location.
- Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized parts department, including aisles, shelving, and work areas.
- Technology Use: Utilize the dealership's inventory management software and parts catalog systems to locate parts and track inventory.
- Customer Service: Provide support to the parts counter team by pulling parts for retail and wholesale customers.
- Demonstrating a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, parts department, or automotive environment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to read and understand part numbers and technical diagrams.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and inventory software is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Physical Stamina: The job requires standing and walking for extended periods, often throughout an entire shift.
- Lifting & Carrying: Must be able to frequently lift and carry automotive parts, often weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Mobility: The role involves bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders to retrieve parts from various shelf heights.
- Dexterity: Requires strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small parts and operating equipment.
- Environmental Tolerance: The work environment can be dusty, noisy, and may have fluctuating temperatures.
