The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student – Data Analytics for John Deere Davenport Works located in Davenport, IA, you will...

• Leverage data visualization to accelerate insights for the team
• Create mobile/web/desktop applications to support operations
• Partner with Engineers to understand business needs and implement technological solutions
• Explore new analytical problems, and develop creative solutions using data and analytics
• Ingest, evaluate, and prepare data for use in algorithms and solutions

What Skills You Need

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science or an Engineering field; others may apply
• Must be registered as a full-time student at an U.S. accredited university
• Graduation date of December 2026 or later
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
• Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
• Available to work 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester
• Must be able to commute to the designated work location in Davenport, Iowa, on a weekly basis year-round (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided.)
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365
• Knowledge of databases (such as SQL, Oracle, Sharepoint, MS Access)
• Analytic skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Interpersonal communication skills with ability to lead conversations and collaboration
• A self-starter with the ability to execute multiple tasks in parallel with little supervision
  
  

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, Ignition)
• Experience programming in additional languages (e.g. SQL, Java, Visual basic, R)
• Experience working on/managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, or industrial processes
• Knowledge of computer vision and machine learning
