Job Summary
The Paralegal will assist attorneys by providing clerical support services, which include: performing legal research, preparing trial/arbitration/discovery documents, monitoring files, tracking discovery and case deadlines, preparing settlement agreements and affidavits, compiling courtesy copies, and e-filing.
Responsibilities
Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions. Must be able to maintain time lines, meet deadlines, keep accurate records and be detail oriented.

Responsibilities
- Preparing legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, discovery and appeals
- Organizing and preparing exhibits for trials
- Performing legal research
- Preparing affidavits or other documents, such as legal correspondence, and organizing and maintaining documents in our electronic filing system
- Knowledge of statutes, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
- Job requires being reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- Job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Must be proficient in Word/Word Perfect, Excel and Outlook
- Detail oriented, highly organized, self-starter, with the ability to multi-task in a very face-paced/high volume work environment
