Paint System Engineer - 1st Shift - ACI Oshkosh

If you are driven to succeed with a passion for the professional growth and development of others, our employee-focused company may have the right opportunity for you. ACI is looking for a Paint Systems Engineer on 1st shift at our Oshkosh, WI facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing tools and processes to improve paint system performance.
  • Providing process and troubleshooting support to paint processes and implementing permanent corrective actions.
  • Managing and monitoring paint supplier activities.
  • Leading and participating in Continuous Improvement Activities
  • Assisting with PFMEA's, control plans, PFP's, operator instructions, layouts, quotations, etc.
  • Generate and analyze reports on paint system performance (uptime, quality KPI’s, cost metrics, etc.).
  • Project Management
  • Work in a team environment, as an active team member, group facilitator, and leader.
  • Promoting quality, continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, good housekeeping, and safety practices.
  • Effectively utilizing employees, materials, and equipment.
  • Communicating regularly with all affected parties on paint system activities.
  • Develop and manage Paint Capacity Planning tools and Documentation.
  • New Part Implementation and First Article Review.

Position Requirements:

Required:

  • Computer competence in Windows Word, Excel, Access.
  • Strong understanding of paint chemistry, application, automation, and process control.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position or field.
  • Experience with statistical techniques such as Shainin or Six Sigma.
  • High level of analytical ability, oral and written communication skills.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of paint systems including E-coat, primer, basecoat, powder coat, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in proper function of paint booths, ovens, conveyors, ventilation, and robotics systems.
  • Experience in Paint Equipment PM Processes, both liquid and powder.
  • Experience leading equipment upgrades, line modifications, and new product launches.
  • A background in coordinating with equipment suppliers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines during project execution.
  • Experience with PLC’s, robots, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with environmental compliance in paint systems a plus.
