FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $128,000 per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Your Responsibilities

The Operations Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, is a vital part of the senior leadership team and is responsible for leading and coordinating the schedule and activities concerned with production and quality control in the Kansas City, KS facility. This very important leadership position is responsible for overseeing process improvement, special projects and serving as backup to the plant manager.

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of operation processes.
  • Confers with management to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Drives employee safety/communication meetings.
  • Ensures that all Team Members follow Fuchs safety policies, work rules, and S.O.P.s.
  • Coordinates production activities with customer service, outside warehouses, procurement and maintenance to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems, and implements improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Provides and/or coordinates training for team members and assists in the continuous development of the training program.
  • Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.

Qualifications We Are Looking For

  • BS in STEM related discipline required, preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of plant management experience in a batch chemical facility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage change within a group and build strong interdependent teams
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment and processes.
  • Experience with control systems
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience with applicable EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with ISO standards
  • Strong computer skills required. Experience with SAP a plus.
  • Working in a Union environment is a plus.
  • Experience with working in visual factory environment with strong housekeeping standards
