Job Overview

We are a mission-driven organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by abuse and neglect. Our collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach unites a network of professionals to offer essential services that foster healing, justice, and prevention for child victims in Essex County, New Jersey. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee our daily operations and guide our commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations and strive for continuous process improvements.
  • Manage facilities, ensuring safety, security, and effective capital project execution.
  • Spearhead the development, expansion, and reporting of the grant portfolio, while identifying new funding opportunities and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to guide personnel and cultivate a cooperative, mission-focused environment.
  • Partner with human resources to oversee recruitment, onboarding, staff development, and volunteer services.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to maintain the highest level of service and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to pertinent accreditation standards, including those set forth by the National Children’s Alliance.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong operational acumen.
  • In-depth knowledge of nonprofit fiscal management, including grant writing and fundraising.
  • Proficiency in database and spreadsheet management.
  • Proven experience working with a Board of Directors.
  • Bilingual skills are beneficial but not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Master's Degree in Public Administration, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related discipline.
