Job Overview

The Network Administrator is responsible for supporting the network infrastructure in a large, complex, global environment. This position requires excellent technical skills and proven attention to detail, process, and discipline within a production environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Escalation point for a team of Desktop Support Techs, providing advanced troubleshooting, problem solving and research for all levels of IT and global users.
  • Provide level 2 support for Network Related issues, supporting Cisco switches, and wireless, and Aruba routers. Monitor the network ticket queue, resolve incidents and tickets. Escalate issues as needed.
  • Provide hands on support configuring and racking switches, opening ports, setting proper VLANs, etc.
  • Maintain and monitor SolarWinds ensuring all network devices are online. Analyze bandwidth trends and escalate circuit issues to network team.
  • Work with cabling vendors for new network drops and ISPs for new circuit installs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field – or - equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of recent network administration expertise supporting a global, 100+ site WAN and LAN environment.
  • Experience supporting SD-WAN environments.
  • Experience following enterprise network security best practices and policies.
  • Support of Cisco, controller based, wireless solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies and WAN communications including TCP/IP (routing and subnetting)
  • Strong knowledge of Layer2 and Layer3 Cisco switches including Catalyst 92xx, 93xx
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively with technical and non-technical remote support.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with Network Monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Cisco Security appliances (FTD and FMC
  • Ability to work occasional evening and night shift hours for project and coverage needs.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
