Mortgage Collateral Specialist

Position: Collateral Specialist

Position Details: Temporary, contract

Location: In-Office, Carrollton, TX

We're seeking a detail-oriented Collateral Specialist to manage the critical flow of loan collateral, ensuring swift and accurate processing for our warehouse banks and investors. You'll be responsible for prioritizing and handling diverse loan files, including 1st and 2nd liens, CEMAs, Co-Ops, and specialty loans, with a focus on same-day shipping for time-sensitive funding.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently process and prioritize collateral packages, including separating and organizing essential loan documents.
• Perform accurate data entry in Encompass and other systems to track and manage collateral files.
• Review closing and trailing documents for accuracy, identifying and resolving discrepancies with title companies and other parties.
• Prepare and ship collateral packages to warehouse banks, adhering to strict deadlines.
• Manage and resolve collateral exceptions promptly.
• Communicate effectively with branch and corporate employees, title companies, and attorneys.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in collateral processing or a related field.
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
