Needed: Machinist to make custom metal products from engineered and hand-drawn prints in a job shop. We work with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. What you make will end up in all sorts of places, like food plants, hospitals, submarines, and schools. Family owned and operated for over 80 years. Summary

As a Machinist, you will be integral to the production process, utilizing your skills in blueprint reading and fabrication to create high-quality metal components. Reporting to the Production Manager, your role involves working with various tools, including a Trak style bed mill and manual machines, to meet project specifications. Your expertise in hand tools and power tools, combined with your knowledge of fab shop practices, will ensure efficient and accurate fabrication. Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications and requirements.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for metal fabrication tasks, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Perform machining techniques to fabricate metal components.
  • Conduct measurements using calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy in fabrication.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and safety standards.
  • Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in blueprint reading and fabrication techniques
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, including CNC and manual milling
  • Experience with water jet operation is a plus
  • Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Experience with crane operation and precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers
  • Familiarity with job shop protocols and safety regulations

Job Type: Full-time
