Med/Surg RN Job Details – Pocatello, Idaho

• Location: Pocatello, Idaho (ZIP 83201) – Southeastern Idaho healthcare jobs
• Unit: Med/Surg Floor 4A
• Position Type: Locum tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: October 20, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,460 - $1,500
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 44 patients
• Facility: Modern hospital with interdisciplinary support (IV Teams, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, and more)
• 100-Mile Radius Rule: Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Idaho (required for Idaho nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required within 12 months of hire)
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Competency in managing patient ratios of 5-7
• Strong computer and organizational skills
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Willingness to float to other units if competencies are met
  
  

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care using the nursing process and hospital protocols
• Respond promptly to life-threatening situations with appropriate clinical interventions
• Prioritize, delegate, and communicate effectively with providers and interdisciplinary team members
• Accurately document patient care and maintain clinical records
• Maintain clinical competencies and pursue ongoing professional development
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, COPD, trauma, respiratory failure, post-op, AKI, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, and more
• Perform procedures including blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube management, colostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tube management, IV starts, wound care, tracheostomy management, and more
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
