Duties And Responsibilities

  • Safeguards client’s record confidentiality and secure storage to meet HIPAA guidelines and standards.
  • Compile, process, and maintain clients’ records in a manner consistent with administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the Agency.
  • Process, maintain, compile, and report client information for health requirements and standards.
  • Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes.
  • Ensures that the client records contain accurate information and that services are appropriately documented in the record.
  • Provides coding or data entry backup when indicated by departmental needs.
  • Assemble clients’ information, making sure that clients’ charts are complete, that all forms are completed, and that all necessary information is in the computer.
  • Close and Scan files for Archiving purposes into the medical records system.
  • May regularly communicate with Agency staff to clarify information or to obtain additional information for inclusion in the client record.
  • Assist the Receptionist by filling in on the main multi-line switchboard during breaks, lunches, sick days, vacations, or as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and clerical skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and following directions.
  • Proficient with PC stand computer operations (Word, Excel & Adobe applications).
  • Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment.
  • Able to bend, lift and or carry up to 50 pounds.

Credentials/Academic Requirements

  • One (1) to Three (3) years of job-related data entry / clerical experience.
  • Proof of High School Diploma or equivalent must be provided.
