CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join our Power & Manufacturing – Generation & Energy Management Team at our Parsippany, NJ office.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA is a leader in sustainable district energy, power and thermal generation systems. Our approach includes critical systems that are maintainable and operable with redundant, fail-safe backups. Our expertise encompasses gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating engines, gas plants, biomass plants, coal-fired boiler plants, chiller plants, high-voltage substation, and more. From the early stages of master planning and permitting through comprehensive detailed design, we partner with our clients to create solutions that provide reliable, sustainable energy.

Working closely with professional engineers, the Mechanical Engineer I assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Mechanical Engineer I works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

The Mechanical Engineer I aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The professional in this role performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, and clients. The Mechanical Engineer I solves routine problems by applying defined procedures and attends field assignments when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
  • EIT certification is preferred
  • No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
  • Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
  • Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences

Salary Range

$72,000 - $78,500

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
