Education

Experience / Qualifications

• A minimum of 15 years extensive mechanical background required.
• 10 years hospital or industrial experience required.
• Must be capable of trouble shooting and repairing various types of mechanical equipment to including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, controls, steam, chilled water, natural gas, propone gas.
• Able to read and understand blue prints and schematic drawings.
  
  

Position Summary

The Mechanic IV position will start and operate all emergency generators and automatic transfer switches throughout the facility for testing and in the event of electrical failure. Requires extensive knowledge of chillers, steam boilers, reheat boilers, vacuum pumps, air compressor control pumps, exhaust fans. Extensive knowledge of chill water air handlers with the ability to change out large electric motors, shives, pulleys, and belts.

• Ability to diagnosis chill water and steam delivers problems as they arise.
• Requires the ability to repairs ice machines, med-gas wall outlets and valves, tube system trouble shoot and repair.
• Require technical knowledge to trouble shoot and repair hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to manage work time and track and maintain productivity by utilizing the facility building management program, Four Rivers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This position can be physically demanding at times. Corrected vision, normal hearing. Ability to communicate in writing and verbally. This position will require standing, lifting, walking, and kneeling for extended periods of time push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 75lbs. Ability to adapt and react during stressful situations.

• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation
• TB/PPD Surveillance Program
