Under the direction of Service Line leadership, this Clinical Programs Manager is responsible for day-to-day oversight and supervision of clinical operations, operational budgets and practices within specific service line and define functional area(s) across the continuum of care for Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS). This role is responsible for executing strategic business and operational initiatives to maintain Service Line excellence as well as achieve financial, clinical and quality goals of the Service Line throughout the healthcare system. This position is also accountable for the provision of quality outcome-based educational programs and practice support, which promote initial and ongoing competency and continuous development of nursing staff. The Programs Manager creates an environment that promotes professional practice and strives for excellence in all aspects of nursing process and Patient Services initiatives. The Program Manager provides clinical expertise integrating quality care across the service line and is responsible for patient education materials, program platforms, marketing, financial management and electronic, in-person and virtual patient education programs.

EDUCATION
BSN required, Master's degree preferred. *At least one degree must be in nursing.
Experience
At least 5-10 years clinical practice experience in area of specialty. Relevant experience developing and implementing clinical programs in a comparable setting required.
LICENSURE
Current Connecticut RN licensure required. Certification in specialty area preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated clinical expertise and knowledge. Leadership skills. Knowledge of adult learning principles and presentation skills. Program management skills including assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating. Effective communication, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. Critical Thinking and communication skills. Creativity and flexibility. Computer skills. Ability to direct a diverse workforce in a seven day per week operational environment. Ability to manage and remain effective with multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills. Excellent clinical skills. Knowledge of and proficient in the operation and use of computer-based information systems, to facilitate all aspects of care delivery. Knowledgeable of Quality Improvement processes, and capable of implementing concepts. Ability to implement and support change required. Ability to provide and meet the educational and competency needs of defined function area.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Exposure to biohazardous blood and body fluids. Prolonged standing, walking, and lifting required Required travel between various YNHHS service line sites as needed.

Responsibilities
- 1. Provides leadership, expertise, and support in planning, promoting and ensuring delivery of best-in-class care to patients across the health system in the defined Service Line in accordance with agreed business and educational plans.
- 1.1 Provides leadership, guidance and direction for both clinical and administrative staff across the continuum of care at a system level.
- 2. Human Resource Management:
- 2.1 Collaborates with administrative and clinical leadership in recruitment, onboarding, orientation and professional development of staff
- 3. Leads performance improvement initiatives as it relates to program optimization, communication strategies, and patient engagement opportunities.
- 3.1 Develops and implements processes that lead to improved quality outcomes.
- 4. Finance/Budget
- 4.1 Develops and manages program budget to ensure the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality care.
- 5. Compliance/Regulatory:
- 5.1 Ensures compliance with federal, state and regional regulations as well as TJC standards and specialty certification activities
- 6. Participates independently in continuing education activities to maintain competencies and to meet re-certification requirements.
- 7. Completes other duties as assigned at direction of Service Line leadership.
