Description

The Manager, Manufacturing Engineering (MME) plays a critical role in advancing Click Bond’s mission of innovation and sustainability. This position leads the implementation of manufacturing and process engineering priorities aligned with the company’s strategic goals and the Click Bond Way—our commitment to learning, teaching, and developing people while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The MME provides technical leadership, drives process optimization, and ensures that all engineering initiatives support operational excellence, product quality, and long-term sustainability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champion the Click Bond Way: Model respect, collaboration, and a positive attitude while engaging teams in sustainable practices and continuous improvement.
  • Process Optimization: Review and improve existing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize risk to product quality.
  • Innovation: Lead the design and implementation of fixtures, tooling, and systems to reduce setup time, mistake proof and improve reliability.
  • Data: Own and maintain method of manufacture, including bill of operations and bill of materials, ensuring accuracy and alignment with engineering and customer requirements.
  • Talent Development: Develop and implement structured team development programs, including technical training, THRIVE goal setting, and succession planning to build a high-performing, future-ready engineering organization.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all manufacturing processes meet or exceed AS/ISO and customer quality standards, with full documentation and scientific evaluation.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Provide technical leadership while collaborating with operations, quality, and design engineering teams to support new product introduction and manufacturability.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Incorporate lean principles—waste reduction, quick setups, visual controls, and standardized work—into all engineering activities.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop annual departmental budgets, capital project plans, and ROI analyses for equipment investments.
  • Safety & Sustainability: Maintain hazard-free work areas, enforce safety guidelines, and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support company objectives.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Strong ability to identify future product opportunities and industry trends.
  • Skilled in managing multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams from concept to implementation.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, process control, and error-proofing techniques.
  • Ability to perform ROI analyses and make data-driven decisions.
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly proactive in seeking out and reviewing data to make informed business decisions to achieve company goals.
  • Must have a firm understanding of sources of variation and the effect of variation on sample populations.
  • Ability to effectively present information, concepts, and solutions in one-on-one and group situations to customers, employees, and other constituents.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to write and read English.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field) preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
  • Advanced degree in technical or business discipline is a plus but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Familiarity with aerospace and defense industry standards is highly desirable.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position requires supervision and management of direct-report employees within the department as needed.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The work is primarily sedentary, although there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items, such as paper or books, weighing less than 10 pounds.
  • When in manufacturing areas, may be exposed to noise, smells, heat, or dust and will require safety glasses and/or protective wear.


PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

  • Work primarily performed in a standard office environment. If in manufacturing areas, requires protective eyewear and/or hearing protection.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work primarily performed in a standard office environment. If in manufacturing areas, may be exposed to noise, smells, heat, dust, etc. Work requires the observance of fire regulations and safe work practices.
