Summary / Job Objective: The Licensing and Contracting Manager is responsible for leading, training and coaching our Licensing and Contracting team in The Woodlands, TX office. This position works closely with our Partners, Carriers, Advisors and Marketers to facilitate the processing of agent licenses and contracting requests. Responsibilities include ensuring the team is working in a consistent and efficient manner as well as meeting the organization’s SLAs.

This is a management role requiring active daily engagement with the L&C team. Organizing, compiling data and submitting required information on a timely basis with various insurance companies. Processing incoming contract paperwork, verifying agent profile updates for Errors and Omissions coverage, W-9s and Anti-Money Laundering courses. Researching and investigating return items in mail or reports generated from the administrative system.

Must be organized, straightforward in their communication, and produce quality work in an efficient manner. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

Essential Job Functions: Oversight and management of Licensing and Contracting team in The Woodlands Operations Center. Working collaboratively as a contributing member of the greater Simplicity Operations leadership team. Ensure proper training of team members and understanding of SLA’s for various job functions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and strong leadership skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as escalated point of contact
  • Review and prepare incoming contracts for input into the electronic work stream
  • Contact agents for missing documents
  • Follow required departmental checklists and workflow items
  • Process a high volume of work within established accuracy and time goals
  • Review and analyze error notices on new policy applications
  • Notify agents of required licensing, Errors and Omissions coverage, and Anti-Money Laundering training
  • Advise internal New Business team of actions to take to resolve error messages
  • Manage and handle all agent administration responsibilities to completion
  • Process agent License and Appointments by performing necessary transactions to process state licensing, including payment of fees to state insurance
  • Complete agent terminations by sending letters and terminating agent record and state appointments in all required systems
  • Communicate with agents, field force, state insurance departments and vendors via telephone or email
  • Ongoing collaboration with other internal departments
  • Prepare reports for management and agents

Management Responsibilities

  • Relationship calls with Carriers and Partner Agencies
  • Collaboration in the development of policies and procedures
  • Performing audits; ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training of team
  • Oversight to ensure team is operating within SLA’s
  • Tracking and approval of team timecards and PTO
  • Participation in Key Ops Leadership meetings

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Minimum 5 years in a management role
  • Experience with computer applications including the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing excellent customer service
  • Understands documents and applies the information to work situations
  • Conveys ideas and facts concisely and accurately in writing and uses language tailored to audience
  • Time management skills
  • Attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation (based on experience)

  • Base salary: $57,500-$75,000
  • This is an Exempt position
  • Annual performance bonus target: 15%
