About The Job

Manager, Inbound oversees and coordinates all inbound operations, including receiving, returns processing, and inventory control. This role ensures accurate and timely handling of all products while maintaining maximum efficiency. Responsibilities include enforcing compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), optimizing standard operating procedures by eliminating non-value-added tasks, and managing daily production workflows. Additionally, this role focuses on maintaining proper inventory levels to meet customer demand while driving employee performance and operational effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all processes and procedures for inbound operations including the receiving, returns and inventory control
  • Ensure the receiving, returns and inventory control teams are staffed appropriately in order to operate at peak efficiency and complete all assigned tasks on a daily basis
  • Create, generate and maintain KPI metrics all assigned functions
  • Managing the work performance of each member of the inbound teams to ensure productivity standards and KPI metrics are consistently being met
  • Implementing inventory control programs with successful execution and maintenance. Identifying causes of issues and implementing process improvements
  • Keeping abreast of changes in inventory control best practices in order to educate staff and issue policy changes
  • Providing training to Distribution staff on inventory best practices. Working with Finance, Quality and Supply chain ensuring accurate reporting of inventory. Review inventory counts and balance accuracy
  • Daily communication with Glenmark’s Demand Planning / Quality Assurance Department providing information of all Inbound Issues / Concerns
  • Daily communication with outside Drayage vendor, alerting Distribution Management / Demand Planning of Inbound Issues/ Concerns
  • Partnering and communicating with management/leadership to ensure alignment of objectives, problem solve, provide operational updates, and develop new operational procedure and strategies
  • Delivering performance reviews and conducting monthly check-ins with each member of the inbound team to establish rapport and provide feedback
  • Addressing performance-related incidents that arise and recommending a course of action on all disciplinary and personnel issues
  • Identifying, leading, and supporting continuous initiatives that improve customer service, accuracy, and productivity while reducing operating cost
  • Training and developing team leads and associates through coaching, mentoring, and effective communication to develop a strong culture of employee engagement
  • Ensure all Inbound shipments are unloaded safely, timely and inspected for damages/shortages upon receipt
  • Ensure all Inbound products are correctly assigned to Bin location for Storage, Replenishment and Picking Functions

Qualifications

Education

  • HS Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or related field a plus

Experience

  • 5 – 7 years of industry experience in Distribution or operational supervision/management with emphasis in Inventory Control, WMS and/or SAP

Knowledge And Skills

  • WMS Experience (Manhattan Associates preferred)
  • SAP Knowledge / Experience
  • Working with Carrier Vendors, MHE Vendors
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution concepts (GDP, GXP)
  • Knowledge of implementing cycle count programs and physical inventory
  • Understanding of distribution flow, integration, and automation
  • Fundamental understanding of the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)
  • Fundamental understanding of inventory, supply chain and logistics concepts
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Problem solving and an ability to work in a fast-changing environment
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency for self and all subordinates
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse team environment
  • Knowledge of FDA, cGMP and other regulatory requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Visio)
  • Six Sigma training preferred

Physical Demands And Abilities

  • The incumbent typically works in a warehouse environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of a warehouse or distribution center.
  • Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  • The incumbent is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 40 pounds.

Compensation And Benefits

Salary Range - $85,000 – 105,000 USD

The compensation range provided reflects the expected base compensation only and does not include potential bonuses, incentive plans, or benefits. An individual’s final compensation offer will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education level, relevant experience, training, and geographic location.
