This is an immediate full-time opening for an experienced Nursing Home Managed Care Billing Specialist to join our team.
Managed Care Billing Specialist Responsibilities:
Managed Care Billing Specialist Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and bill patient claims in accordance with payer plan requirements and organization policy.
- Process payer remittances accurately and timely, forwarding copays to the proper payer source.
- Take timely and appropriate action to resolve underpayments and denials.
- Review and interpret payer agreements, EOBs, and Remittances to ensure proper billing and reimbursement practices and take corrective action
- Must have the ability to create Excel reports and write appeal letters to resolve underpayments and denials.
- Communicate with insurance companies to track and monitor appeal and payment status.
- Perform other specific projects related to billing as assigned.
- Bachelors/Associate Degree in Accounting or Business preferred but not required
- At least two years experience in Nursing Home billing
- General understanding of Nursing Home regulations and industry standards, or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of managed care billing best practices
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
