An Intern with The Restaurant Store (A Clark Associates Company) will enjoy specialized training courses, participate in round-table discussions with other interns from around the company, and attend a volunteer day which will underscore giving back to the community as a part of our company culture. A highlight of this Internship will be participating in sessions led by the Chairman of the Board and Clark executives where they will discuss topics like “How to Dream”, “Building Your Own Personal Brand”, and “Embracing an Entrepreneurial Spirit”.

Responsibilities

This internship will have one of two tracks: Order Fulfillment or Transportation

Order Fulfillment Track:

  • Work closely with our Customer Solutions team and retail store locations to enhance our customers' ordering experience
  • Assess incoming customer orders and determine the most efficient fulfillment methods
  • Provide friendly and empathetic communication, primarily through email, to customers on the status of their orders
  • Assist in problem solving to satisfy customer order requirements and execute strategic solutions
  • Communicate with internal and external sources, specifically with our vendors, distribution centers, and purchasing department, to ensure effective order fulfilment
  • Assist with entering purchase orders for customized and special order items
  • Monitor expedited shipping orders
  • Coordinate with our retail store locations to complete online pickup orders
  • Offer suggestions and methods to improve delivery and order fulfillment

Transportation Track:

  • Work directly with carriers to resolve shipping issues that occur with ground and common carrier shipments
  • Make and execute decisions regarding the delivery needs of customer orders
  • Provide friendly assistance to our customers and keep them updated on the status of their orders
  • Work closely with our Customer Solutions team and our retail store locations to enhance our customers' shopping experience
  • File and manage carrier damage claims
  • Coordinate and schedule common carrier pickups
  • Log and analyze freight invoices
  • Monitor expedited shipping orders to ensure they deliver timely
  • Offer suggestions and methods to improve delivery

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

Experience

Past industry experience is helpful but not required for this position.

Education
