We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join our collaborative and high-performing team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to corporate governance, legal operations, and contract management—supporting Liberty's mission from the inside out.

Job Summary

The Legal Secretary/Paralegal provides comprehensive legal, administrative, and operational support to Liberty’s Legal Department. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this individual will assist across a variety of responsibilities, including contract lifecycle management, corporate governance, litigation support, legal research, and secretarial functions. You will be an integral partner to our legal team and internal stakeholders, helping ensure the legal function operates smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare board and shareholder meeting materials; maintain corporate minute books
  • Assist with entity formation, dissolution, and filings
  • Manage subpoena responses, legal hold notices, and document tracking
  • Prepare and update standard agreements (e.g., NDAs, BAAs); support early-stage negotiations
  • Coordinate the full contract lifecycle—intake, routing, execution, and archival
  • Respond to audit and RFP-related inquiries and assist in budget and reporting tasks
  • Organize and maintain legal department files, track external counsel costs, and manage subscriptions
  • Conduct legal research and draft communications on behalf of the legal team
  • Support litigation, audits, and due diligence processes, including managing data rooms
  • Represent the Legal Department in internal meetings and liaise with business units

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a legal assistant, secretary, or paralegal role
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong attention to detail with sound analytical judgment
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with contract management systems preferred
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms like WestlawNext is a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. At Liberty, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We are committed to pay equity and also consider the internal equity of our current team members when making final compensation decisions.

Please note that the range listed represents the full base salary range for this role. Typically, offers are not made at the top of the range to allow for future salary growth.
