Lean Manufacturing Manager Description

Our client, a well-established company in the manufacturing and consumer products industry, is seeking a hands-on Lean Manufacturing Manager to join their team in West Minneapolis, MN. Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing, you will work closely with 4 Supervisors and approximately 100 indirect reports to drive performance and operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence daily operations while fostering a culture of accountability, coaching, and continuous improvement. Lean Manufacturing Manager Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor Supervisors and team members to support their development

• Lead by example, engaging with Supervisors and teams to meet goals and improve processes

• Set clear performance expectations and support employees in meeting them

• Provide regular feedback and growth plans through evaluations and coaching

• Deliver regular evaluations and growth plans

• Align production with customer demand, addressing challenges as needed

• Promote a safety-first culture by ensuring protocol compliance

• Continuously improve performance metrics using data analysis and lean principles

• Use lean manufacturing tools to reduce waste and improve workflow

• Collaborate to launch new products into production smoothly

• Use data to support production decisions

• Manage budgets to ensure efficient resource use

• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

Lean Manufacturing Manager Qualifications

• 8+ years of manufacturing and/or assembly production experience required

• 5+ years of supervisory/management experience, including direct & indirect reports, is required

• Lean (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Gemba Walks, etc.) experience required

• ERP experience is required

• Must be able to work 100% on-site in Plymouth, MN; occasional travel (up to 5%) required
