Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

Pay Range: $27 - $34 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM

What You’ll Do As a Lead Mechanic

• Lead and coordinate daily shop operations and mechanic team activities
• Perform and oversee repairs, inspections, and diagnostics on diesel vehicles, including electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
• Utilize vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and adjust engine and vehicle control modules
• Assign and review repairs identified on driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Respond to road calls and support emergency repairs
• Ensure accurate documentation using fleet maintenance software
• Conduct test drives to verify service and repair quality
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with OSHA and company standards
• Mentor and train junior mechanics, fostering a culture of safety and excellence
  
  

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in diesel vehicle diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repair

Leadership experience or strong aptitude for team coordination

Basic tool set (Tool Allowance Provided!)

Hydraulic experience is a plus

Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and professionalism
