SUMMARY: The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the coordination of both onsite and remote Learning and Development programs and initiatives. This position provides excellent employee experience focused support and guidance around Learning and Development practices and processes and maintains effective communication and records throughout. This position does not involve designing content, but offers hands-on experience in supporting organizational learning objectives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to employee and manager populations on a vast array of Learning and Development programs including, but not limited to new employee orientation pathways.
  • Provide on-site coordination for Learning and Development programs including but not limited to opening buildings, liaising with catering, and setting up training space and supplies.
  • Support the coordination of training programs, including scheduling, participant communication, and logistics management.
  • Provide back-up facilitation for the Learning and Development team as needed.
  • Provide facilitation support for the execution of workshops, trainings, and various educational programs as needed.
  • Ensure Learning and Development data is maintained in a timely manner, including support of electronic files, reporting and audit activities, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality and compliance.
  • Develop supplemental materials, job aids, and resources as needed.
  • Provide logistical support during training sessions, ensuring all materials and resources are available.
  • Support special projects and initiatives related to employee development as assigned.
  • Take ownership of inquiries ensuring accurate, prompt and consistent resolution or redistribution by following established channels and exceeding expectations of a positive employee experience.
  • Act as primary liaison between CCC and external training providers.
  • Maintain superior knowledge of Learning and Development resources, business processes and standard operating procedure.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative functions that may include front desk and office support.
  • Provide continuous status updates, guidance and information to all levels of employees, key functional partners and peers within the HR function to ensure resolution.
  • Deliver a positive, professional, customer orientated experience with follow- through, attention to detail and resourcefulness.
  • Provide support for other HR programs including but not limited to Shared Services, Benefits, and Employee and Labor Relations as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other HR teams for alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvements of employee and manger resources to provide self-service opportunities.
  • Educate employees and managers on HR resources available to them and encourage the use of self-service tools such as the HR Portal and other processes as available.
  • Perform Learning Management System administrative duties as needed, including by not limited to, marking completion data, pulling reports, building live events, and monitoring completions.
  • Adheres to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.  Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access.  This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint) required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to engage with diverse staff and leadership to promote trust, collaboration, and partnership between programs and the HR department.
  • Maintain in detail accurate records and necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to remain solution-focused and respectful in all interactions with staff, co-workers, vendors, and clients.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of CCC policies regarding professional boundaries.
  • Ability to apply principles learned to new situations.
  • Ability to display a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an HR or education related field.
  • 2 years’ experience in HR or education. - OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, including competency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. HRIS, LMS, and SharePoint experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects.
  • Must be able to climb stairs several times a day.
  • Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace which encourages a safe, healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988.   • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, TB test, and background check.
