This important role ensures our hospital is a pleasant place for our patients to recover.

EVS Laundry Technicians interact with patients, visitors, and employees in a friendly and courteous manner. They provide help throughout the hospital by processing laundry, inventory, performing checks and maintenance of the washers, extractors and dryers.

Minimum Qualifications

• EDUCATION: Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• EXPERIENCE: None required; prior experience in laundry operations is preferred
  
  

Physical/Mental Requirements

• Extensive and constant physical effort is required including walking, lifting a minimum of 75 lbs., pulling, pushing and stooping.
• Vision must be good or prescribed glasses worn.
• Operation of equipment associated with laundry operations and maintenance of equipment.
• Ability to perform folding, stocking, tracking and ordering of new linen.
• High tolerance for change, handling varying demands made by staff, patients and visitors.
  
  

ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Works in a typical hospital environment subject to the hazards of a health care facility with the potential risk of exposure to disease and or hazardous wastes materials.
• Flexible scheduling is required including overtime, weekend assignments and second and third shift assignments.
