The laborer role will perform tasks involving physical labor at various construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools; clean and prepare sites, remove trash, perform light demolition, assist others with material handling, clean up rubble and debris, remove waste materials; and assist other craft workers with their duties.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of proper and safe use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to lift objects less than or equal to 100 pounds. Walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous and non-strenuous physical labor under general construction conditions.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  
  

Must be eligible for and maintain a Top Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.

Summary

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous and non-strenuous manual labor in construction projects.
• Perform various tasks assigned to them by the foreman.
• Material handling, loading, unloading and storage. Lifting, carrying and moving materials by hand, cart, wheel barrel or hand truck 100 pound weight limit per person.
• Assist in the performance of minor wall, ceiling, conduit, piping and floor demolition by using hand and power tools.
• Transport and place concrete. Mix mortar for brick and block masons using hand and power tools.
• Maintain a clean job site: Sweeping, mopping, shoveling typical construction trash and debris for removal to the trash chute or dumpster.
• Pick up tools, power cords and equipment to be secured in the job site lock box each day.
• Hoist Operation.
• Other duties as assigned.

The salary range for this role will be $27.11 - $32.00.
