Laboratory Test Technician

Laboratory Test Technician - Fountain Valley, CA

Twining Consulting Inc dba RADCO, an innovative engineering, testing, and inspection company is seeking a Laboratory Test Technician for its facility in Fountain Valley.

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Set-up and perform standard tests on building products in accordance with referenced specifications and procedures.
• Work in the lab and field settings in construction environment.
• Work with tools to setup and deconstruct test assemblies as required.
• Fabrication skills utilizing construction materials (glass, wood, steel, aluminum, plastics, etc.).
• Operate testing equipment to conduct testing of windows, doors, curtain walls, storefronts, skylights, etc. and a variety of building materials and products.
• Prepare and submit electronic daily test and observation reports and hours worked on projects.
• Set-up of instrumentation.
• Communicates effectively with client and project teams.
• Proficient in basic computer skills required for preparing test reports (word processing and spreadsheets).
• Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Calculator skills to compute basic mathematical functions.
• Safety oriented to adhere to all safety and precautionary measures.
• Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed.
  
  
  

Requirements for Technician:

• Experience - General construction, trade, military, or commercial laboratory required.
• Window installation/fabrication experience preferred.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Competent skills and knowledge in the use of hand and power tools.
• Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• able to lift 30 to 50 pounds often. Occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Able to hear audible discretions and communicate audibly.
• Ability to squat, kneel and bend down.
• Ability to climb up to 40 ft with safety precautions.
• Comfortable with test work at multiple building heights with lifts, swing stages and scaffolding.
• A valid driver's license and a good driving history.
