Summary
The Lab Technician's main responsibility is to perform routine operations within a laboratory setting by supporting and facilitating daily laboratory operations. This includes preparing reagents, cleaning glassware, organizing, sorting supplies, and logging in samples. Additionally, they may specialize in one or more types of analysis for the purposes of improving laboratory workflow. They are also responsible for following all documented procedures, recording all laboratory notes, and elevating technical issues to the laboratory manager.

They are also responsible for following all documented procedures, recording all laboratory notes, and elevating technical issues to the laboratory manager.
Essential Functions
- Maintain a clean and organized lab space.
- Prepares general laboratory operations, including preparation and analysis of samples.
- Prepare reagents and various media for testing at the direction of the Laboratory Manager
- Performs routine daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of laboratory instruments and workspace.
- Documents work performed in accordance with established protocol’s, compiles analysis data into lab reports.
- Perform a specific analysis, or portion of analysis at the direction of the Laboratory Manager
- Clean and maintain equipment and glassware.
- Report non-conformances to the QAM and Laboratory Manager
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
- $18/hour
- Associate degree or higher in a physical science preferred.
- General familiarity with laboratory safety, previous laboratory experience preferred.
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with internal customers and external vendors.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Professional behavior and appearance.
- Ability to be organized and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task, follow up on pending issues, meet deadlines and work independently
- General knowledge of chemistry and lab analysis operations.
