Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

  • Must be proficient in wet chemical methods including measuring, mixing, pipetting, and weighing chemicals, as well as interpreting lab results
  • Microbiological and analytical laboratory tests in the medical or pharma industry preferred
  • Experience working with liquids, solutions, and reagents.
  • Experience in GLP, GDP, and laboratory investigations
  • Utilize standard laboratory equipment
  • The incumbent will follow good practices in recording and reporting data; and have a working understanding of FDA regulations, international standards, and guidance documents applicable to medical devices.
  • Experience with computer record-keeping systems is required
  • Experience with scientific and technical data processing and graphing software is required.
  • Excellent Interpersonal / communication skills, Organizational / planning and Project management skills preferred
  • Personal computer skills, Windows: word processing, presentation, e-mail, web browsers & spreadsheet software
  • Ability to work efficiently, meet timelines, and communicate status (generate trackers, send emails, etc.)

Roles & Responsibilities

Under General Direction And In Accordance With All Applicable Federal, State And Local Laws/regulations And Corporate Johnson & Johnson, Procedures And Guidelines, This Position

  • To provide laboratory supervision including, but not limited to, oversight of
  • Biochemical tests such as bacterial endotoxin (LAL) testing, Total Organic Carbon (TOC), protein and carbohydrate quantitation, as well as water quality monitoring, e.g. TOC, bacterial content etc.
  • Engineering and electrical testing including fatigue, stress, torque, tensile and stiffness tests as well as HF-18 required electrical safety testing
  • Review detail and follow-up as required and keep an accurate notebook according to guidelines
  • Make independent decision in the application of scientific principles.
  • Perform FDA required medical device validation testing, both functional and cleaning
  • Perform new equipment IQ, OQ and PQ
  • Perform routine laboratory testing, e.g. pH, conductivity and material testing
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned & not all responsibilities listed may be assigned
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Up to 10% domestic travel is required
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resour ces needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000 a year
