**Major Duties**
- Serves as Information Technology Accountable Property Officer (IT APO), executing, planning and managing all aspects of IT property management programs for activity serviced.
- Analyzes and develops program requirements and participates in planning for new data processing systems pertaining to IT inventory management requirements.
- Exchanges information for personnel of supply, production, maintenance and other organizations in the area of problem solving relative to IT inventory management.
- Recommends and implements authoritative policy and procedures pertaining to all operational aspects of property accountability, to include disposal, and ensures publication in regulatory documentation.
- Prepares accurate responses to customer inquiries from governmental agencies, private sector organizations, and individuals.
- Distributes management information and tactics in response to customer inquiries.
- Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties section of this vacancy announcement and may include: Developing new methods, approaches and procedures for IT accountable property management program Implementing special projects and developing recommendation for policy change Independently preparing and presenting briefings on property accountability topics Developing and executing phases of operating programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
