Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an individual with strong expertise in IT Infrastructure and will be responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to infrastructure services. The role requires the person to drive innovation and efficiency within IT infrastructure.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Manage MACOM’s IT infrastructure and related services.
• Provide technical recommendations for services performance and reliability improvements.
• Provide technical leadership to Run function team.
• Handle day-to-day data center operations.
• Involve in IT projects that cover west coast and global initiatives.
  
  

Roles and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Manage datacenters across North America (particularly on the west coast) and beyond.
• Installing, configuring, maintaining, performing upgrades and downgrades, troubleshooting, documenting infrastructure components (Windows OS, Linux OS, Storage, Backups, etc.).
• Evaluate performance, monitor workloads, and analyze results to ensure optimal operations. 
• Supporting EDA (Electronic Design Automation) environment (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, Pads etc.) using guidelines / documentation from CAD / Eng IT team. Example: license server management and monitoring, engineering database management and mirroring, user and project environment creation and management, etc.
• Develop and improve upon operational procedures and standards. 
• Lead/coordinate projects including new installations, upgrades, retrofits, etc. 
  
  

Required qualifications and skills:

• Linux administration skills
• Datacenter management (including working knowledge of cooling, power and other aspects).
• Working knowledge of virtualization stack (VMWare, Nutanix, Hyper-V etc.).
• Working knowledge of backup, restore and DR technologies (Veeam etc.)
• Working knowledge of EDA / CAD tools related to semiconductor business (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics etc.).
• Experience with management and support of users’ needs in a semiconductor company environment
• Partner with business to gather requirements and ensure needs are being met.
• Recommends and develops mission critical solutions; makes recommendations to address capacity constraints, performance limitation on wide range of technologies.
• Inter-personal and communication skills: Capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a supplier liaison, making presentations to customers, clients, and professional peers. Act as a technical leader and mentor.
• The role requires the person to travel 10-15% of the time.
  
  

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years related IT System Administration experience
• 8+ years of IT related experience
• Ability to work independently and in teams reaching high levels of productivity.
• Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrate strong work ethics.

The Salary Range for this position is $70,000 – $113,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
