This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Office of Information of Technology.

The mission of the Office of Information Technology at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide innovative, reliable, and secure technology solutions that support the department's strategic goals and operational needs.

This position is currently not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Job Duties

  • Cyber Threat Management: Assist with monitoring Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) and antivirus server reporting to manage cyber threats effectively.
  • Incident Response Team: Act as a member of the Incident Response (IR) team, participating in cybersecurity incident response and recovery operations.
  • Security System Administration: Provide administration and end user support for the Department’s Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system, internet monitoring appliance, antivirus software, and data loss prevention solutions.
  • Firewall and Security Systems Maintenance : Assist with the administration and maintenance of host-based/client firewalls and other information security-related systems, contributing to the development of technical specifications and standards.
  • Research and Reporting: Develop expertise in information security risk mitigations, assist in researching technical solutions, and track and report on incidents, service requests, and security-related projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of information security.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers in support of IT operations.
  • Knowledge of information security threat management and incident response principles.
  • Knowledge of information security risk management principles.
  • Knowledge of the Florida Cybersecurity Standards (FCS).
  • Knowledge of the Critical Security Controls (CSC).
  • Knowledge of computer operations procedures and systems.
  • Ability to process information logically.

Requirements

  • Must have experience in one or more of the following: SIEM tools, Endpoint protection, Firewall solutions/software or a security re-certification.
  • Two years of experience in information technology.
    • Postsecondary education may substitute for up to two years of the required experience.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
