Pay Range*: $39.12/hr - $56.75/hr

Position Summary

This position is responsible for applying codes in the EHR for all inpatient type accounts. Code assignment is based on ICD-10-CM and PCS coding guidelines. Ensure Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) data elements are accurate.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities Of The Job

• Meeting quality standards for ICD-10-CM/PCS code assignment.
• Codes from only compliant documentation.
• Achieves optimal MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment.
• Maintains productivity standards to ensure A/R Day goals are met/exceeded.
• Follows company policies, procedures, and directives.
• Maintains required coding credentials.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Five years acute care hospital coding experience required.
• Successful completion of an accredited coding program.
  
  

Education/Licensure/Certification

• At least one of the following credentials is required. AHIMA: CCS, RHIT, RHIA or AAPC: CIC
