Supervises multi-skilled Plant Electricians, Instrument Technicians, and Semi-skilled Workers in work related to repair and/or operation of San Tan generating station and Kyrene generating station including steam units, combined cycle and combustion turbines. Plans, organizes and schedules work for all aspects of operation, repair, installation and overhaul of plant equipment. Supervises personnel in routine and emergency conditions.
What You'll Do
What It Takes To Succeed
Craft Specialist may substitute for required education.
Experience as a Journeyman, Electrician or Instrument Technician involving the operation and/or maintenance or power plant systems and equipment. Functional responsibility for outside crews and contractors on site. Plans, troubleshoots & supervises inspection, adjustments and/or repair to distribution control systems, maintains adherence to all applicable environmental laws & regulations covering O&M continuous emission equipment, hazardous waste, chemicals, NPDES conditions, and all operating permits associated with the stations. Maintains accurate legal records required by NFPA, OSHA, etc., interviews applicants/bidders and selects employees for open positions. Administers testing. Monitors maintenance/testing performed by outside divisions on plant equipment. ssists operators in emergencies/changes in operations of machinery and equipment. ecommends engineering changes in control systems. Supervises, inspects and maintains all repairs to cranes/assoc rigging. Supervise salaried employee's occasionally.
May require certifications related to the work such as AHERA (Asbestos Removal, Handling and Disposal) contractor supervision certification.
Experience
Over 5 years of journeyman experience along with any supervisory experience.
Education
Completion of an Associate's degree, Apprenticeship, or 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
High School, GED or Equivalent.

What You'll Do
- Plans, organizes, schedules and supervises skilled maintenance personnel in all phases of maintenance of all plant equipment associated with valley generating stations.
- Supervises on-shift personnel.
- Maintains effective environmental, emergency response, safety and fire prevention programs. Administers plant clearance procedure.
- Responsible for maintaining high performance and proficiency of operations and maintenance personnel. Identifies and implements training programs as needed to maintain proficiency of all personnel in a multi-skilled environment.
- Plans, coordinates and/or assists in reviewing all unit outage work and modifications or additions to plant systems and equipment.
