Who is VMRC?

VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. It also provides wellness programs, educational opportunities, and arts and cultural activities for residents and the wider community.

This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC & R) equipment in a safe, pleasing, and well-cared-for condition to ensure a proper environment is provided for residents, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, CFC Universal Certification, plus two years of experience in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning & refrigeration field.

Must be self-motivated and responsible to maintain the HVAC & R maintenance program.

Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments; ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision.

Self-motivated, able to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes.

Must have a pleasant personality, enjoy working with people, have good manners, and deal tactfully with others: excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

Strong work ethic, fast learner.

Ability to work quickly, carefully, and safely, and to motivate others to do the same.

Physical demands: must be able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift, carry, or handle light-weight (1-25 lbs.) materials or equipment frequently.

Must be able to operate all power equipment throughout the VMRC campus safely.

Must report to work in uniform.

This position also requires an acceptable DMV driving record to obtain authorization on the VMRC-approved drivers list if driving a VMRC vehicle is needed.
