HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (RECRUITMENT/CLASSIFICATION)

Position Description

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (RECRUITMENT/CLASSIFICATION) in the COMMANDING OFFICER, COMMAND OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, HUMAN CAPITAL DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. This incumbent will be responsible for providing management advisory services and providing support affecting complex, frequently changing organizations with a wide variety of difficult personnel situations.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will work with the management to design, develop, implement and track both activity and HR strategic/business plans to recruit, develop, and retain the talent needed to accomplish the assigned mission.
• You will assist with solving human resources problems that cross multiple program lines (e.g., recruitment, classification, compensation).
• You will review staffing actions/packages for completeness and compliance in accordance with DON hiring processes and other applicable guidelines and regulations.
• You will provide technical services on assigned portions of recruitment/placement, classification and compensation.
• You will provide advice to managers and operations personnel on various stages of the hiring process and assist employees with HR questions and issues.
• You will review position descriptions (PDs) for accuracy and assist with the understanding of classification principles and concepts to interpret and adapt classification guides.
• You will collaborate with management and operations personnel to determine recruitment selections' pay setting using local policies.
