Established in 1945, Delta Industries aims to provide a solid foundation for economic prosperity and quality of life through construction materials solutions. We need a Human Resources Manager with a solid generalist background to help execute HR initiatives that support Delta Industries’ workforce across multiple locations. This position may be based in either Central, North or South Mississippi.
This role emphasizes proactive employee relations, performance management, effective policy administration, compliance with federal and state employment laws, and helping to optimize the value of the company’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS). The HR Manager plays a key role in building and maintaining a positive workplace culture while safeguarding the organization from avoidable risks.

This position may be based in either Central, North or South Mississippi.
This role emphasizes proactive employee relations, performance management, effective policy administration, compliance with federal and state employment laws, and helping to optimize the value of the company’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS). The HR Manager plays a key role in building and maintaining a positive workplace culture while safeguarding the organization from avoidable risks.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted partner to employees and managers by addressing workplace concerns promptly, fairly, and in alignment with company values.
- Partner with key stakeholders to implement proactive strategies, communications, and training to reinforce direct employee engagement.
- Coach leaders on effective employee relations practices, consistent application of policies, and creating a respectful workplace.
- Conduct investigations into workplace complaints ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Perform root cause analyses of employee relations, compliance, and turnover issues to identify systemic causes and suggest corrective actions.
- Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Ensure company policies align with DOT and non-DOT safety, drug and alcohol testing, driver qualification, hours of service, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Partner with Safety and Operations teams to implement employee programs that reinforce compliance and reduce regulatory risk.
- Support regulatory reporting and audits, assisting with implementation of corrective actions as required.
- Monitor changes in employment and transportation regulations and advise leadership on compliance risks.
- Participate in management of the performance review process.
- Provide training to managers on delivering effective feedback and aligning employee performance with company goals.
- Analyze performance trends and partner with leadership to address skill gaps, engagement risks, and succession needs.
- Assist with administration and optimization of the HRIS for payroll, timekeeping, benefits, performance, and reporting.
- Train managers and employees on effective HRIS usage for self-service functions.
- Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with recordkeeping regulations.
- Provide dashboards and analytics to support workforce planning and leadership decision-making.
- Support recruiting and onboarding initiatives to ensure a positive employee experience aligned with The DELTA Difference values.
- Contribute to learning & development and succession planning programs.
- Partner with Safety and Operations to reinforce a strong culture of compliance, respect, and accountability.
Qualifications Include
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Master’s or HR certification (HRCI, SHRM, or similar) strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated expertise in employee relations and compliance.
- Knowledge of DOT and non-DOT employment policies and practices including driver qualification files, drug/alcohol testing protocols, hours of service, and medical certification requirements preferred.
- Experience managing performance review processes and conducting root cause analyses.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction materials, or transportation industries preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, NLRA, Title VII, ADA, OSHA, and employment laws across the Southeast.
- Demonstrated success in employee relations strategies and fostering positive employee engagement.
- HRIS administration experience (UKG Ready preferred).
- Strong computer skills including specialized applications, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro
- Excellent communication, investigation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally as needed to support multi-site operations (up to 20%)
