We are an independent, global, one-stop-shop focused on delivering Central Laboratory Services that are tailor-made, timely and flexible to meet the evolving study demands of traditional to increasingly complex trials. Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.
Job Summary
The Human Resource Manager (HR Manager) is a valued position on the HR Leadership team, providing guidance and oversight for a variety of HR projects, processes, and procedures both within the department as well as assigned areas of the organization. The HR Manager role requires the ability to execute both strategic initiatives as well as diving into the details of administrative responsibilities.
As an HR Manager, this role is expected to establish strong partnerships with leaders and employees throughout the organization, allowing you to successfully influence decisions and outcomes. Quick action is required when process improvements are identified, and/or concerns are present in assigned support areas. Additionally, the HR Manager must be flexible and nimble in grey and uncertain situations, willing to positively dive right in.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Leadership
- Provide daily oversight for direct reports, ensuring tier 1 HR responsibilities are completed by deadlines.
- Ensure ongoing skill development and career growth opportunities for direct reports.
- Make HR department decisions as needed and provide HR approvals for requests that come to Human Resources.
- Collaborate with the HR Leadership team to establish a positive department culture.
- Partner with members of the HR department to implement the vision and direction of the CHRO.
- Serve as project lead and/or project member on critical HR projects that have broad organizational impact.
- As needed, assist with HR interviews and hiring decisions, as well as provide training to new HR members.
- Act as a strategic HR partner and trusted advisor, working closely with the Management team within assigned business units.
- Understand and mitigate corporate risk associated with relevant employment laws/policies
- Proactively analyze HR trends and metrics to recognize trends and work with business partners to address opportunities. Collaborate with HR Operations as needed to successfully access data from the HRIS.
- In partnership with key members of HR, create and implement a workforce strategy to ensure success as the company grows and changes.
- Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, complaints, and concerns that are raised.
- Provide consultation and interpretation to employees and leaders on policy, work rules, performance problems, and employee relations issues.
- Oversee and provide counsel to leaders on disciplinary or termination actions. Assist with review of policies and practices for compliance with regulations and laws governing employment.
- Train and provide guidance to leaders on progressive disciplinary processes, assisting in the creation and delivery of any performance management. Maintain accurate records for compliance
- Conduct investigations as needed when issues and complaints arise.
- Collaborate on driving the performance appraisal program throughout the organization, helping to ensure leaders complete requirements.
- Evaluate internal equity, working closely with department leaders to ensure consistency and calibration across teams and business units.
- Provide counsel on annual merit evaluations and ensure adherence to the HR merit process/guidance.
- Work directly with leaders to determine the optimal team/department structure and staffing needs as driven by business goals and company results.
- Provide resources and HR guidance on employee career paths, assisting with any IDP training and company training initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR Operations Team for all compensation evaluations, requests, and concerns. Review employee FLSA status to ensure organizational compliance for all company positions.
- Maintains job descriptions to include the development of new positions and annually updating existing job descriptions.
- Maintain detailed employee records, ensuring compliance in all areas of HR.
- Partner with HR Operations Team for all employee leaves of absences, ADA requests, and benefits inquiries. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
- Integrate learnings and observations from across the organization to identify improvement areas and propose solutions for addressing them in HR policies, programs, and processes.
- Partner with stakeholders on multiple HR projects and company initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited University required, Master’s degree a plus
- PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
- 5-7+ years combined experience as an HR Business Partner in a mid-size+ public company, and high growth environment.
- 1+ years leadership experience preferred.
- Experience navigating through uncertain and grey business & employee situations strongly preferred.
- Leadership skills to engage, motivate, and develop employees and leaders.
- Highly skilled communication skills, both verbal and written in a variety of situations, including high pressure and escalated situations.
- Progressive HR Business Partner experience, with proven ability to navigate ambiguity and provide leadership in all areas of the employee life cycle.
- Experience working with HRIS systems, including extracting data for reports.
- Ability to lead with professionalism and positivity in challenging situations
- High degree of change agility, act as change leader to help others adapt to an ever-changing work environment.
- High degree of strategic thinking and ability to critically analyze situations.
- Requires strong skills in confidentiality in all aspect of the role.
- Excels at interpersonal skills and function as a strong team player
- Ability to manage multiple task and priorities in daily and long-term responsibilities
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, and the ability to research or stay on top of up and coming changes that could affect the organization.
