Your Role as an HR Manager

  • Strategic HR Partnership: Collaborate with the HR Director to develop, implement, and evaluate HR strategies that support the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
  • Support: Our Rivermont Schools across Virginia
  • Operational Oversight & Compliance: Lead day-to-day HR operations including employee relations, performance management, retention, recognition, engagement, and compliance; conduct audits and recommend improvements to enhance HR effectiveness and mitigate risk.
  • Manager & Employee Support: Advise managers on policy interpretation, performance issues, retention strategies, and HR compliance; serve as a key contact for employees on a wide range of HR-related matters.
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Support recruitment efforts by attending job fairs, identifying sourcing strategies, and guiding Talent Acquisition on state- and role-specific needs to ensure effective candidate selection.
  • Workplace Culture & Engagement: Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and values-driven culture by promoting open communication, employee engagement, and alignment with core organizational values.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR centers of excellence and departments like Payroll, IT, and Total Rewards to support effective service delivery and issue resolution across functions.
  • HR Data, Training & Field Support: Analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement, performance) to drive improvements, manage workers' compensation cases, provide onsite school support, and deliver training to strengthen leadership and staff development.
  • Plan and Visit multiple schools across Virginia- Out-of-state applicants must be willing to relocate to Virginia

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years in human resources
  • Experience working within an HRIS platform; MS Office suite preferred
  • HR certification preferred
