Contract type: Full time
About Us:

Here at Fireworks, we're building the future of generative AI infrastructure. Fireworks offers the generative AI platform with the highest-quality models and the fastest, most scalable inference. We've been independently benchmarked to have the fastest LLM inference and have been getting great traction with innovative research projects, like our own function calling and multi-modal models. Fireworks is funded by top investors, like Benchmark and Sequoia, and we're an ambitious, fun team composed primarily of veterans from Pytorch and Google Vertex AI.

We are seeking a versatile and hands-on HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our growing startup team. This role will be both hands on and strategic—building the frameworks and foundations that will enable us to scale effectively in the future. The role will be shaping strategy today while crafting the HR foundation for tomorrow.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, brings strong HR expertise, and can translate that expertise into practical business solutions that support both employees and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through offboarding, ensuring a consistent, positive employee experience.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for day-to-day HR operations including immigration, payroll, benefits administration, and HR systems management.
  • Partner with Recruiting, Finance, Business Operations, and client groups (both technical and non-technical) to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration.
  • Build and improve HR processes and programs that can scale with the company, laying the foundation for future growth.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on HR policies, employee relations, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to translate HR expertise into actionable business strategies and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations while maintaining agility to adapt as the company evolves.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR experience across multiple areas (e.g., payroll, benefits, immigration, HR systems, employee relations).
  • Strong track record of collaborating with diverse teams, including technical and non-technical client groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on operational work with strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex HR concepts into practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Persistent, resourceful, and proactive mindset with strong ownership and a commitment to continuous learning and growth.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience establishing HR operations in a startup or high-growth company
  • Hands-on experience setting up and managing payroll, benefits, or recruiting operations from scratch.
  • Familiarity with scaling HR processes and systems to support organizational growth.

Total compensation for this role also includes meaningful equity in a fast-growing startup, along with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Base salary is determined by a range of factors including individual qualifications, experience, skills, interview performance, market data, and work location. The listed salary range is intended as a guideline and may be adjusted.
