With offices in the U.S. and Germany, MicroVision is a pioneering company in MEMS-based laser beam scanning technology that integrates MEMS, lasers, optics, hardware, algorithms and machine learning software into its proprietary technology to address existing and emerging markets. The Company's integrated approach uses its proprietary technology to provide automotive lidar sensors and solutions for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and for non-automotive applications including industrial, smart infrastructure and robotics. The Company has been leveraging its experience building augmented reality micro-display engines, interactive display modules, and consumer lidar modules.

To strengthen our team at the Redmond location, we are looking for an HR Assistant.

This position is part-time, typically working 20 - 25 hours / week with the possibility of fluctuation in hours as needed by the department. An in-person presence is required for this position three (3) days a week Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday during normal business hours.

We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position. You must be able to work in the US without sponsorship. Individual work schedules will be at the discretion of management and dependent on role and business needs. You must live and reside within commuting distance from MicroVision’s headquarters in Redmond, WA.

Pay Range: The pay range for this part-time Washington-based role is $25-$27/hour. Exact compensation offers will vary based on skills, experience/education level, and location.

Summary:

The HR Assistant provides support to the People Operations Manager and plays a critical role in supporting the overall effectiveness of the People Operations Department by assisting with tasks that foster a positive work environment. This role involves assisting with recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and HR-related projects while maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with HR laws and regulations. This position offers excellent professional development opportunities for individuals starting their Human Resources career. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, exceptional customer service and communication skills, strict confidentiality, strong organizational abilities, and a proactive mindset. We welcome recent college graduates with HR education or experience who are passionate about developing a career in human resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruitment efforts, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and coordinating interview schedules
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire documents and coordinating orientation schedules
  • Help maintain accurate HR databases, digital files, and confidential record-keeping systems
  • Support the benefits team with administrative tasks, including assisting with wellness program initiatives
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating HR events, training sessions, and employee engagement activities
  • Provide administrative support to the People Ops team, including meeting coordination and filing
  • Assist in maintaining positive employee relations by addressing employee inquiries and escalating issues to the People Ops Manager when necessary
  • Contribute to special projects across various HR functions
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of HR education or relevant experience
  • High School Diploma required; current enrollment in or completion of HR-related degree program preferred
  • Outstanding customer service orientation with a focus on positive employee experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational abilities and efficient time-management practices
  • Demonstrated follow-through and commitment to project completion
  • Absolute discretion with confidential and sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Eagerness to learn and apply new HR concepts and best practices
  • Professional proactivity and initiative in anticipating departmental needs
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of basic HR functions and employment laws
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and ADP or other HRIS software
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus
