Job Purpose
The HIM Project Analyst is responsible for navigating between multiple health information systems to analyze, perform GAP assessments, prepare and report (e.g., findings, insights, conclusions, etc.) to Health Information Management Department and client leadership. The analyst supports and may lead project initialization, planning, execution, and closure phases of the project life cycle related to health information systems.

Job Purpose
The HIM Project Analyst is responsible for navigating between multiple health information systems to analyze, perform GAP assessments, prepare and report (e.g., findings, insights, conclusions, etc.) to Health Information Management Department and client leadership. The analyst supports and may lead project initialization, planning, execution, and closure phases of the project life cycle related to health information systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops project plans, goals, and objectives in collaboration with HIM Department staff and management and, when applicable, client leadership.
- Identifies barriers to project success and presents recommendations for resolution and adjustments needed to return the project back on course. This responsibility includes managing support tickets logged for HIM systems.
- Manage all facets of assigned project(s), including but not limited to, specific policy and procedure development and review, identifying project stakeholders, and appropriate delegation.
- Ensures the project supports HIM department goals.
- Gathers and analyzes information to prepare status reports.
- Aids in workflow analysis and redesign so HIM systems functionalities are optimal.
- Leads and facilitates performance improvement initiatives, be it wholly within the HIM Department or in collaboration between the HIM and other client departments.
- Keeps current with new tools and technology and functionality across the applications.
- Maintains and enhances professional competency, including current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory requirements applicable to the organization.
- An active RHIA or RHIT American Health Information Association (AHIMA) credential
- Three years of previous HIM Department or equivalent experience
