Summary
Performs a variety of general bookkeeping, record keeping, accounting functions, administrative and office clerical duties; and computes, classifies and records numerical data to keep sets of financial records complete, maintains records specifically related to student attendance, and provides quality customer service.

PRODUCTIVITY/EFFICIENCY SKILLS: Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary; organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frame.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to conduct basic math functions, as well as manipulate formulas in spreadsheets.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Other Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing (Microsoft Office), spreadsheets (Excel), database (Access), presentation software and accounting/financial software.

Summary

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Keeps an accurate record of all receipts and disbursements
- Maintains a complete bookkeeping system for the school and all extra-curricular activities/sporting events
- Understanding electronic payments systems
- Assists with keeping administration/staff advised of balances and deadlines for all orders and expenditures
- Keeps separate records for funds allocated to each department/account and records purchases made against each account
- Utilizes work processing equipment to prepare general correspondences, memorandums, reports, purchase orders, and other material from rough draft, copy marginal notes or verbal instruction
- Checks and reviews a variety of data for accuracy, completeness and conformance to established standards and procedures
- Makes arithmetical calculations; requisitions, supplies and material for office and office copy equipment
- Maintains filing system as required by building administrator
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and staff related information
- Reconciles monthly bank statements and purchase cards
- Picks up and drops off deposit bags from the bank, as requested by the building administrator(s)
- Complies with and supports school and District regulations and policies
- Attend faculty meetings as required
- Assume responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development by attendance at inservices or trainings
- Seek assistance should emergencies arise
- Represent the school district in a positive manner
- Know and follow school district policy and chain of command
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education And/Or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous bookkeeper and/or secretarial experience preferred
- Knowledge of work processing, data bases, spreadsheets, and reports
- Knowledge of automated office equipment and efficient office procedures
- Strong telephone skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Works well with students, staff, and the public
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work under pressures and deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
