Position Summary
Supports the mission, philosophy, and goals of Orlando Health by seeking innovative ways to achieve education program goals related to cultural and linguistic competence and reducing health disparities to achieve health equity. This grant funding position will primarily focus on the research, development, design, delivery and assessment of a comprehensive Cultural Competency Training Program for healthcare providers. The Health Equity Program Coordinator utilizes systematic educational planning principles, solid instructional design methods, and emerging technologies for the creation of relevant programs, materials for diverse audiences across practices settings with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes and community health.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Develops and disseminates communication materials pertaining to trainings and workshops
Assesses the effectiveness of training programs by collecting and summarizing data from course participants and developing quality measures by which to measure training effectiveness.
Coordinate facilities for training, registration, and logistics for sessions.
Assists in the development of job aides, facilitation guides, manuals, exercises, trainer guides and other materials to enhance learning.
Collaborates with Organizational Development to continually ensure the integration of the diversity, inclusion & equity in established programs.
Serves as a consultant to healthcare providers in the development of relevant educational programs and materials.
Assumes leadership role in the development and revision of health equity standards, guidelines and organizational policies.
Demonstrates initiative related to self-directed learning through participation in lectures, programs, e-learning, and/or conferences.
Works closely with multiple stakeholders to meet strategic deadlines and goals.
Identifies opportunities for improvement in products and processes.
Partners with other team members and collaborators to address opportunities.
Serves as program ambassador to recruit participants
Conducts formative and summative program evaluations and makes appropriate program revisions.
Measures knowledge, skill, behavioral change, and gains as a result of learning intervention.
Qualifications
Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Education, Public Health, Organizational Development, Health Education, or Medical Education.
Experience
Minimum three (3) years of experience in medical education, health equity education and/or cultural competence training from development to delivery.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs related to Health Equity and Cultural Competence.
- Serves in capacity of expert resource utilizing advanced Health Equity knowledge and skills.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop and present a program of education that is meaningful and meets identified needs.
- Ensures effective and efficient coordination and outreach of educational programs and materials/media; promotes multidisciplinary participation in education process.
- Evaluates and revises educational programs; recommends changes in the education process based on evaluative findings and accreditation/regulatory standards.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
