The Professional Women’s Hockey League (“PWHL”) is seeking an experienced and visionary Head Coach to lead the Boston Fleet of the PWHL to new heights. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of coaching at the elite level, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, and preferably at the professional level. The Head Coach will be responsible for all aspects of the Team’s performance, player development, and fostering a winning culture both on and off the ice.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive team strategy and game plan.
  • Hires, manages and oversees assistant coaching staff.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate players and coaching staff to achieve peak performance.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.

Player Development

  • Design and deliver effective practice sessions and skill development programs.
  • Evaluate player performance and provide individualized feedback and coaching.
  • Collaborate with medical and training staff to ensure optimal player health and fitness.

Game Preparation & Execution

  • Analyze opponents and develop tactical game plans.
  • Make real-time decisions during games to maximize team success.
  • Review game footage and statistics to inform future strategies.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the General Manager and front office on roster decisions and player acquisitions.
  • Serve as a key representative of the team in media appearances and community events.
  • Communicate effectively with players, staff, league officials, and stakeholders.

Administration

  • Oversee compliance with league rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage coaching staff schedules, budgets, and resources efficiently.

Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of elite-level coaching experience (professional, NCAA, international, or equivalent).
  • Professional hockey coaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing athletes and building winning teams.
  • Deep knowledge of the game, including tactics, player development, and analytics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in sport.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Salary for this role is : $150,000-$180,000
