Job Description

The Graphic Design Specialistassists the Communications Manager in supporting all aspects of community communications, including but not limited to, the community website, community magazine, and printed materials. Primary role as the on-staff Graphic Designer with additional tasks including content creation, marketing, site monitoring, maintenance, training, and end-user customer support.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The View Magazine:

  • Must be experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) for creating digital marketing materials, advertisements, and any necessary design work (flyers, posters).
  • Proofreading and editing content when necessary.
  • Solicit new advertisers through marketing campaigns (such as cold calls).
  • Assist end-user support to resolve issues related to content or user access.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Familiarity with WordPress and general knowledge of Website Integration APIs for managing content on the community’s site.
  • Knowledge of desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and event management platforms like Eventbrite.
  • Work closely with HOA, Board of Directors, department managers, clubs, and committees to ensure effective communication prior to material being printed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to ensure smooth interactions with all community members and contributors.
  • Ability to manage several tasks at once, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • A customer-focused mindset, assisting residents and community members with any site-related issues or concerns.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with a team, including other departments, for the successful execution of community communications while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Education and Experience

  • A background in Graphic Design is crucial, along with experience in creating content, and handling both digital and print formats.
  • Have portfolio of work.
  • Customer Support Experience to handle any issues that arise on the website or with community members.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of how websites work, particularly WordPress and APIs, along with an understanding of general IT troubleshooting and collaborating with off-site IT departments when necessary.
  • High School Diploma or GED Required.

Rate of Pay: $23 per hour.
